i absolutely cannot believe i FINALLY got a lime-light account.
SCORE!
i can't wait until i get access to the picture boards.

sorry i've been neglecting for the past few days. i had to celebrate the jewish holiday over the weekend, and then i had a bunch of school things to catch up on.
anyways, as much as i like nicole's style, she looks terrible here. i hate skinny scarves and her sunglasses, and NOBODY should be walking around with balenciagas anymore. if i see another one of those bags, i may hurl.
but then again, maybe that's why she chose to wear it?

I'm in the middle of watching America's Next Top Model, and I just wanted to let you guys know that the much advertised Perez Hilton cameo was crap!
he mentioned two lame-o celeb "gossip" facts that we already knew for ages, and his acting/speaking was horrendous. Gah, I hope his "reality" show's acting is not as lame.

ok, ok, i just did a negative Lindsay post- but I just found these pictures of her with her injured wrist (in case any of you don't know, she slipped during a fashion week party and hurt it.)

hmm, her style is either right on or wayy off. i like both of today's looks though.
this reminds me- always buy the right size pants. they must must must fit the way they were intended or you'll look silly. tops, on the other hand, are a whole different story. if you change up the sizes you can completely change the look of a top. her cardigan is a great example. LOVES IT!

as much as i loved nicole over the summer, i officially can't deny that she has major weight issues now.
i still love her style though. she is rocking this fabulous cape (i love the oversized button). plus her birking also more than fab.
i absolutely cannot wait until i can afford one (then the question becomes if i can also wait 3 years on that impossible waiting list for it...)

how exciting!
payless has paired up with abaete and put out a line of fabulous shoes. if you go on the payless website, you'll see that there are basically 4 styles in a few colors. the selection and variety is def. not as big as some of the designers who have paired up with target, but the shoes seem supercute. (i can already see myself buying all three colors of the flat)
important to keep in mind though is that even though you can find cute styles at payless, the quality is virtualy non-existant. i got the cutest pair of gladiators but they literally began falling apart after three uses.
caviat emptor.

I went to see The Last Kiss on Friday night. I loved it. The style is sort of Garden-State-ish, so you'd like if you you love garden state (obviously).
The only thing that really bothered me was Rachel Bilson's wardrobe. I love her clothing choices in real life, but she looked pretty tacky in the movie. I guess that's sort of the point though...
Anyways, to compensate for my total irritation throughout entire sections, I am doing a "rachel-bilson's-style-is-so-cute" post. Sorry I haven't posted for a day or two, but it took me a while to compile.
As you can see, her style is always laid back and chic. She keeps it simple and rarely overlayers. I just love her sweet and natural look (and awesome birkin)

Its been raining here, and I've gotten to thinking about rainboots.
I happen to think they're pretty fabulous. Yes, you probably want to show off your of-the-moment skinny jeans with cute flats or platforms, but think how awesome they would be tucked into a hot pair of rainboots.
I know you've probably seen them in cute prints and awesome patterns, which are cool, but I happen to lean toward the old-school yellow kind. you know-- with the little loops on the side to help you get them on.

Hey guys,
Cool news. Seventeen got a bunch of stars to donate their purses, and put them up for auction on ebay. And its not just about the awesome styles that are there- all proceeds go to the American Breast Cancer Foundation, American Cancer Society, and the Susan G. Komen foundation. Everyone from MK and Ashley Olsen to Rachel Zoe donated a purse. Plus, all bags come with a signed note from the star herself!
If you can't afford the high price tag that comes with these bags (some of them are already well into the 100s!), I did notice that Thomas' Whole Wheat English muffins are sporting the pink ribbon. Buy them and support the cause.
It's so important.
Heres a recipe for the ultimate healthy b-fast sandwich with the whole wheat muffins (I had one this morning and it was amazing):
Ingredients:
1 WW english muffing
1 Morningstar veggie sausage patty
1/2 hard boiled egg (sliced)
1 slice of lowfat cheese
Slice english muffin in half and toast. Place fake sausage patty (you may have to fanagle it a bit to make it fit well), few slices of egg, and LF cheese on one slice of english muffin. Top with the other slice. Viola! *hint* you can add a bit of ketchup or hot sauce for a kick of flavor.

ok, ok. lindsay is trashy, as exemplified in two (very) recent pictures of her wrinkly and saggy vagina.
but boy, the girl knows how to dress. her oversized sweater, chic sunglasses, and perfectly knotted scarf exude the perfect old school glam vibe. i love it. its not too modern or edgy, or old and matronly. i don't know if she still employs Rachel Zoe, but she either learned a few tricks of the trade or Zoe is doing an awesome job.

makeup can be your best friend or your worst enemy.
for a simple, clean, and fresh everyday look (basically, to avoid looking garrish) follow these simple rules:
1) DON'T OVERDUE THE BASE. cakey makeup draws attention to problem areas. use a teensy amount of concealer, and go over it with a light and airy tinted moisturizer. use a wedge applicator instead of fingers to avoid an unnatural look and any streakiness.
2) A SMALL AMOUNT OF BLUSH IS GOOD. make a big fake grin into the mirror and lightly dust the apple of each cheek. make sure it is a light color, and make sure to blend in for a natural look.
3) SUBTLY EMPHESIZE YOUR EYES. too much color and definition around the eye makes you look like you are trying to hard. use a neutral shadow on the eyelid, and emphesize with a darker brown around the outer edge and upper crease. blend in a little bit of white or silver in the inner corner to make you look more alert and awake. use one coat of mascara, and seperate lashs before it dries completely.
you look should look effortless, but it'll make all the difference. best of all, after a few runs, it should take you no longer than 5 minutes each morning!

ok, ok... i realized i just posted a fashion related post less than an hour ago, but i find this small bit of information very intriguing:
Ashley Olsen debuted a piece from her brand new collection (to be named "the row") at the NYC balenciaga party. here is a picture of her at the party:
I love her! She's my favorite olsen, and its so perfect that she's coming out with a line, since her style is so edgy but chic. I love it! Plus she looks awesome in the picture.
SCORE!
fashion; you can't live with it, you can't live without it.

as you probably know, NY Fashion week is going on as you read in Bryant Park. The collections can tell us lots of interesting things in the realm of forecasting trends- sadly, however, they are telling about the SPRING trends!
meh. its not even winter yet! i love fashion and seeing what all the various houses are putting out, but i still haven't taken out my sweaters from winter storage.
in the spirit of practicality, lets discuss essential pieces for your winter wardrobe, rather than your spring one. luckily, this season is all about smart layering and various tricks with size and proportions- with mostly superbly flattering cuts. here are a few tips to get you by in the colder months:
1) In the spirit of Chloe, layer layer layer dresses over tshirts
2) Do like Alexandre Herchcovitch and do the wide belt. (hint: its especially great to cinch a volumonous top and create the illusion of a great figure)
3) Take a hint from Anna Sui and rock the 60s vibe with colored or patterened tights, a cinced shift dress, and awesome patterns
4) Like Marc Jacobs, emphesize comfortable layers. To tone down his look, have a 3 layer maximum limit and avoid overly bulky pieces. (hint: this is where a great sweater dress might fit in. wear an interesting cami, sweaterdress, and patterned leggings)
5) Listen to Betsey Johnson and play with a toned down 80s look- forget the shoulder pads, but emphesize knits, off the shoulder pieces, and leggings. Don't be afraid to play with color!
6) Hone in on Luca Luca and wear neutral colors with interesting twists. An unexpected bow or ruffle more than makes up for the bland color. Also, don't be afraid to experiment with faux leather.
And, your most important winter accessory: SPF! no- its not the name of the new "it" bag. while some of us tend to be vigilant about our skin in the summer, it is often in the colder months that we get the most sun damage. The sun still shines if its cold! Use at least SPF 15 to keep gross age spots away. You can get them as early as 19, so beware.
and to satisfy your craving for the warmer months, i'll leave you with this image:

when you think you can't deal with another chilly morning, just remember what is in store for you for spring.

yes, yes, i know. i've been neglecting all of you devoted readers for a week or two or three. i apologize. will you forgive me?
to make it up to you, i'm announcing a slight change in direction for the blog. yes, you'll get all of your fun celebrity gossip, but there will be new posts on everything a girl wants to know or cares about. there are plenty of gossip, fashion, beauty, and advice blogs, but they are rarely fused into one easy to read format. Let Trash Talk fulfill all of your blogging needs.
